Know More
Crusade of Curves is a plus-size fashion event for women and men, built to celebrate curves on the runway. In 2025 it went on tour, and I won the campaign with a save the date I designed before I was hired.
Won with a save the date, before the job existed
The owner of Crusade of Curves came to me through a referral from a longtime client. I have been designing plus-size model and fashion events for over fifteen years, and she was looking for a direction for her 2025 tour but had not settled on one.
Instead of pitching in words, I designed a quick save the date built around a single silhouette and sent it over. She liked it enough to hire me for the full campaign, and that silhouette became the idea everything else was built on.

Problem
Five events, two cities, a postponed date, and a campaign that had to feel like one tour the entire way through.
The New Nostalgia Tour stretched across Los Angeles and Charlotte. The Los Angeles stop alone held five events over four days: Muse and Mingle, an invite-only Influencer Luncheon, Curvy Karaoke, the Grandeur Côte fashion showcase and plus marketplace, and A Seat at the Table lunch. Each event needed its own flyer, and every one had to read as part of the same tour.
Then the Los Angeles wildfires forced the tour to postpone, moving the April dates to June. The campaign had to reset its countdown without losing the momentum it had already built, releasing new pieces every couple of months to bring the audience back.

Concept
A silhouette that shows every curve without borrowing anyone's face.
The silhouette started as a speed decision for the spec save the date and became the idea the whole campaign stood on. It puts a plus-size woman's curves at the center of the design without a face, which keeps the focus on the bodies the event celebrates and avoids using any real person's likeness.
Inside the figures I placed the city skyline, tying each one to the tour stop. Teal and orange carry the palette across the Los Angeles pieces, and each event gets its own pose: reclining for Muse and Mingle, a trio on the runway for Grandeur Côte, a single figure beside the title for A Seat at the Table. Change the pose and the event reads differently, but it never stops reading as Crusade of Curves.

The System
One silhouette, carried from the first save the date through every event, announcement and call.
The campaign ran for several months and covered the save the dates, the main tour posters, an individual flyer for each of the five Los Angeles events, a full event itinerary, panelist and cover model announcements, casting calls for models, vendor and sponsor calls, event signage, and new date announcements after the postponement, all sized for both feed and stories. For the Charlotte stop, I designed the save the date.
Because every piece came from the same silhouette, the organizers could announce a new event, a new panelist or a new date without the tour ever looking like it had started over. Even after the postponement, the Los Angeles stop brought its audience back with a strong turnout, and Crusade of Curves went on to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
